sąmonė statusas T sritis švietimas apibrėžtis Individo orientacijos pasaulyje ir jo veiklos bei elgesio reguliacijos darinys. Tai pagrindinis žmogaus ugdymo objektas. Sąmonėje ne tik atsispindi išorinis pasaulis, bet jis ir perdirbamas, modeliuojamas, sukuriami įvairūs sąmonės turinio elementai: žinios, pažiūros, įsitikinimai, poreikiai, vertybinės orientacijos, interesai, nauji vaizdiniai ir kt. Visa tai leidžia ne tik plačiai orientuotis pasaulyje, bet ir kryptingai reguliuoti veiklą ir elgesį. Sąmonė – pažinimo, jausmų ir valios vienovė, būdinga tik žmogui. Šiuos psichinius procesus vienija Aš – subjektyvioji sąmonės pusė. Sąmonė veikiama ne tik protinio, politechninio ir fizinio lavinimo turiniu, bet ir visomis auklėjimo priemonėmis, kad įgyta patirtis taptų veiklą ir elgesį reguliuojančiais motyvais, kvalifikuotais veiksmais. Sąmonės turinys išreiškiamas kalba. Šioji padeda formuoti sąmonę, mąstymo formas – sąvokas, sprendimus, protavimą, aukštesniuosius jausmus, valią. Veikla taip pat neatskiriama nuo sąmonės.
